This low-cost, high-voltage balanced output transformer can operate from a 12 volt battery for field use, or a wall adapter for normal 110 vac use (not included, but sold seperately if needed). Virtually indestructible circuitry is open and short circuit protected and will withstand reasonable amounts of EMP and other abuse. Output is end point grounded and is at a high frequency of 25 to 35 khz. This higher frequency allows easy conversion to high voltage DC sources using voltage multiplier stacks. The direct high frequency output can be used to power 2-electrode neon displays such as place stands, small point of purchase displays, home neon, vehicles, plasma and gas discharge display tubes, etc. Includes appropriate input and output leads for easy terminations.

3kv open circuit at up to 15ma short circuit (operating voltage is 2kV at maximum output), requiring 12vdc 800ma power (adapter not included). Full metal enclosure 2-3/8 x 1-1/2 x 1-1/8" with 3-3/16" mounting centers, 18" output leads and 7" input leads. This is an excellent hobby unit as it is virtually indestructible and can be used with a voltage multiplier to obtain over 50 kv at a low safe current. It is also an excellent driver for neon displays (or other gas tubes) of up to eight feet. This unit is also used as the driver for our HV250 high-voltage DC power supply which produces 25,000 DC volts.
