Parabolic dish, 12" diameter, aluminum construction, with 3 mounting arms and mount to hold a microphone at the amplification nexus. The Focal Length is about 3 inches (76mm). Used for collecting sound and focusing to a point (nexus) where a microphone is then mounted for further amplification, resulting in a significant increase to the threshold and distance of sound capable of being heard by the operator. Can also be used to amplify and direct sound output originating from the nexus, and as an antenna for directing and amplifying an EMP pulse. Made of strong rust-proof aluminum that provides a high degree of sound reflection efficiency. Manufactured as brushed aluminum, but can be polished to a mirror-like finish with a scouring pad and some fine-grade steel wool.
