Specialized Capacitors for High Power Tesla Coils

These specialized capacitors are made for Tesla coil applications in a variety of capacitance and AC rms voltage ratings where high frequency and high current operation is required. They are designed to withstand the high reversing currents associated with the high Q primary tank circuits. Available in capacitance values from .001 to .1 µfd at voltages of 7500 to 32000 AC volts rms.

The cylindrical capacitors are sealed in high-impact thermoplastic, with axial leads for electrical connections. Constructed with a polypropylene dielectric being specially wound to reduce corona and have a high voltage standoff capability. Designed to withstand the multiple discharges of a rotary gap system of up to 600 breaks per minute with a suggested operating frequency of 30 kHz.
