Light-Activated Switch

A simple circuit suitable for many applications where the ambient light level activates the switch -- for alarms, production control, remote controls, external (and internal) lighting, etc. The circuit uses a light-dependent resistor that changes its value according to the amount of light it receives, and 3 transistors which are used to amplify the signals from the LDR and to operate a relay capable of switching loads of up to 250V and 2A.
